In March, the American Museum launched a competition for local artists to create a sculpture for the front lawn to promote the new café. Our very own Carl Godfrey and his friends David Gordon and Emily Hunter won with their installation, Earlybirds. Echoing the fifty stars of the American flag, a flock of fifty Harlequin ducks, inspired by the decoy ducks found in the folk art collection at the museum, took flight across the south lawn and looked stunning.
