How does ritual manifest itself in today’s society? Twelve artists explored this question in a multi-media experimental show Contemporary Art + Ritual. With so many exhibitions in London, creating an identity that stands out is vital to attract visitors. The identity and graphics were designed to reflect the theme of the exhibition and the venue – the Crypt Gallery, St Pancras Church, London, with its large red doors and atmospheric brick vaulted corridors. The identity was implemented across all media and exhibition signage, resulting in inclusion of the show in key listings magazines such as Time Out, and increased footfall from the eye-catching red banner.
The powerful visual identity and communications were a significant factor in promoting the exhibition and driving visitor numbers. It increased our credibility and created a coherent identity for a show that featured twelve very different artists.
