NSO play for huge audiences at world famous concert venues, and back the biggest stars with their film scores. They’ve been performing for over 30 years with a large loyal team of dedicated musicians from all over Britain. However, the brand was out-dated and did not convey the excellence or excitement of what they achieve. Following a reorganisation, they realised an updated brand would advance their vision to grow. This included a strategic goal to become less reliant on the big names they accompany and stronger in their own reputation, which had enormous potential but wasn’t supported by the brand. We took the initials as a starting point, and the points of a compass to convey ‘national’, combining the strapline ‘Great British Musicians’ to position them as one of the UK’s most successful orchestras.
